Chance favors the prepared mind.

The only thing that overcomes hard luck is hard work.

People have different opinion about that how success comes. Some people believe that success is being for luck, others think it is because of hard work. In my opinion, however, luck sometimes helps us for our work by some way in our lives, success is consequence of hard work and patience. To begin with, to achieve to the personal goal, the person should try all the possible ways to succeed. If he nothing to do for his goal or for his future, then the consequence will be nothing. There would be no good result or success. There is nobody who does do his work. Let’s assume that we are going to take an exam at school. To get good credit, we need to try hard on subjects related to that exam and need to know all the topics of exam. If a student read only one topic of exam, on the exam, if teacher asks about only that topic, he is really lucky. But on the other case, he would be fail on exam. For that student, the possibility of being lucky is almost impossible. Instead of, hard working on materials of related subjects would give him more possibility to get a high score.
On the other hand, we know many famous people around the world, such as Bill Gates, Henry Ford and Marylin Monroe, who achieved great success because of their hard working and tenacity for their goals. Can we say that their success is being only luck?
On contrast, luck sometimes gives us success. The notion of success holds different meaning of different people or group. Actually, many propose that possessing of abundance of money imply success. If the man, who has never been played lottery before, wins the millions of dollars in his first game, it would be considered that luck helps him. In this case, luck helps to achieve in success. But the luck is not same for everyone.

A paper flying in air is
due to its luck but
a bird is flying due to its effort.
So if luck is not with you,
efforts are always there to support you.

In the end, as I always say, that the very purpose of life is to be happy. From the very core of our being, we desire contentment. In my own limited experience I have found that the more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It helps remove whatever fears or insecurities we may have and gives us the strength to cope with any obstacles we encounter. It is the principal source of success in life. Since we are not solely material creatures, it is a mistake to place all our hopes for happiness on external development alone. The key is to develop inner peace.

Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck
